Hubdoc is Xero’s receipt and bill capture tool, and it is included with Xero subscriptions rather than charged separately. You photograph a receipt or forward a supplier invoice to a dedicated email address, it reads the supplier, date, amount and VAT, and pushes it into Xero with the image attached to the transaction. The document being attached is the part that matters: it means your evidence lives with the record rather than in a drawer, which is what makes a digital record actually defensible if HMRC asks. It handles typical printed invoices well and struggles with faded thermal till receipts, like everything else in this category. Set up the forwarding address at the start and get suppliers emailing straight into it — that is where the time goes.
